HOUSTON 2019

Curtis Farley, Clinical Asset Program Manager, Sutter Health
SEND UNDER-UTILIZED MEDICAL DEVICES TO CAMP
Sutter Health has roughly 130,000 medical devices within its system in various stages of their life-cycle. When a device is designated as no longer being utilized within a facility, the biomedical engineering team has created a program that allows for fully functional devices to be transferred from site to site. Additional benefits with the program are a decreased risk of devices leaving facilities that have the potential of PHI recorded on them, an integration with OEMs to streamline medical device trade-in, and increased CMMS inventory management.
Attendees will learn about the tools employed for ease of use, the challenges faced with “selling” the program to department leadership, and the financial results achieved through the program.
