Survey Preparation Best Practices

Hospitals are surveyed by so many different organizations such as CMS (Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services), JC (Joint Commission), DNV (Det Norske Veritas) that the HTM team needs to perform several actions to be prepared for each survey. Proper categorization will give managers the ability to quickly identify high-risk devices, manage devices on an AEM (Alternative Equipment Management) program, identify utility equipment, and identify devices removed from the maintenance program. These details as well as location and schedule need to be comprehensibly addressed day to day and documented in the CMMS through reports, dashboards, and other documentation.
