Growing the HTM Pipeline Together – The BMET Apprenticeship and HTM in a Box

Wednesday, April 13, 2:45 - 3:45pm

Come learn the ins and outs of AAMI's formally registered BMET apprenticeship with the Department of Labor and how it can help combat recruitment challenges. The BMET apprenticeship is all about quality, consistency, safety and opportunity. AAMI’s goal is to offer a new pipeline for BMETs to enter the HTM field that extends far beyond traditional pathways. If we have learned anything from 2020, it is the fact that not everyone has equal opportunity and access in the United States. As we know, someone’s beginning does not necessarily determine their endpoint. Giving everyone an opportunity will only grow and diversify our field while combating the workforce deficit the HTM field is facing. The second part of the presentation will be a demo of "HTM in a Box" – AAMI's free presentation to help HTM professionals promote the field to everyone from children, to high school and college students and to potential career changers. With 55% of the HTM field being over the age of 50, it is essential that we work together and utilize creative solutions to fuel a strong pipeline together!
